Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana is a pretty established resort with a laid-back vibe and a large ski area to explore.

The resort is very close to the Canadian border on a blue sky days the views of the Rockies are incredible.

This is a large ski area with lots of long runs that suit intermediates and beginners very well. For the more experienced skier there is plenty of terrain to explore and some snow-parks to challenge. The lift system is not state of the art, but actually it doesn’t need to be because the large resort can cope easily with the number of skiers and so queues for the lifts are rare.

The resort itself, has plenty of character and has retained its charm despite development. There is a good range of accommodation here, and Whitefish caters for all budget levels.

In addition to the range of accommodation there is also a good selection of bars and restaurants mostly laid-back, but some chic is creeping in. Apres is well catered for here and it re-enforces the friendly vibe that permeates the whole resort.
