Schweitzer ski resort in Idaho is a popular large resort that is still growing and slowly turning in itself into a big ski destination.
There is a lot of terrain here in Schweitzer and intermediates are catered for well with a real variety of slopes to explore. The lift network is efficient and relatively modern, so queues are never too intimidating.
To get the absolute best out of the mountain here, we recommend some cat or heli skiing to take you to some more remote areas.
The resort has some great bars and restaurants and it can be lively for Apres and into the evening if that is what you are after, but there are also some more relaxed bars to enjoy a post ski drink or meal.
Accommodation is mixed in type and budget, and there is plenty if ski-to-door available here, or lower cost accommodation is available in the small but lively local town of Sandpoint which is served by a shuttle bus.
Getting to Schweitzer ski resort via Spokane is easy with a transfer time usually under an hour.
