La Rosiere is one of few resorts that offers easily accessible skiing in both France and Italy, as the resort itself sits on the border. It is very popular with families. The village itself is in France, but this medium sized ski resort is part of the Espace San Bernardo ski area. Due to it’s range of slopes across the border, the north facing steeper Italian slopes retain great snow conditions where as the gentler south facing slopes of France attract more sun. Espace San Bernardo lifts are mostly modern and fast, although a few older chairs do still remain in the quiet village of La Rosiere. As mentioned, it is popular with families as there are good green runs that ease beginners in to skiing. However, on the Italian side of the resort, slightly further away from La Rosiere, you will find some challenging black runs as well as a glacier run. There are great views to be had from all around the ski area, although the views from the village itself are impressive, due to its sweeping views across the Tarentaise Valley. Mont Blanc is very close too. The resort's nearest airport is Chambery which is between a 1.5 and 2 hour drive away.
