Ischgl ski resort. Party. Party. Party. A fantastic ski area with an efficient lift network, where all pistes seem to lead to a bar where there's a party. Not ideal for families with younger children. However, ideally suited to anyone who can drink their own weight in beer and can still get up and ski the next day. There is more to Ischgl than just partying though. The resort of Ischgl provides access to an extensive ski area which is fantastic. Ischgl has direct access to a large ski area which is well managed and maintained. The altitude range here is good with a low of 1377m and a peak of 2872m so there is always good snow to found throughout the season. The queues for the lifts are kep to a minimum even during peak season. The altitude range ensures there is a variety of skiing available both above and below the tree line and so skiers can enjoy tree lined trails back to the resort and wide open pistes with fantastic views further up the mountain. The pistes are primarily long winding blues and red runs, more experienced skiers need to head to the peaks of either Palinkopf or Greitspitze where most of the black runs can be found. However, there are blue and red routes that lead down from these peaks as well, so less experienced skiers can also enjoy the trip to the top of the mountain and the fantastic views it provides. Free-riders also have plenty to explore in this ski paradise as there are lot of routes between pistes and unmarked trails to explore. There is a variety of accomodation available in Ischgl from good quality 4 star hotels through to dormitory style bunk bed accomodation for this who want to access the great ski area on a budget. The resort of Ischgl is typically Tyrolean in terms of its style and architecture but with some modern buildings thrown into the mix.
