Hafjell ski resort is Norway’s 3rd largest ski resort and is an established and popular resort which also benefits from a lot of facilities including an Olympic standard Bobsleigh.
The resort is very popular with families and there is a lot of ski-to-door properties available on the mountainside which means the village is quieter than many resorts of its size as a lot of the visitors return to their chalets after skiing. Irrespective of that there is a village centre with all the facilities one may need and some good bars and restaurants for those who want them.
The km of pistes available is at the upper end of the small category, and the majority are Greens or Blues, but there are some more challenging runs for more experienced skiers and so this resort is suitable for all levels of skiers.
The lift system is well managed and the slopes are mostly well groomed, for those looking for back country or off-piste skiing the terrain here provides plenty of opportunities. One other thing to consider is that the snow record here is very good and so the season is long and conditions are generally very good.
