Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in California has a great reputation with intermediate and experienced skiers. The resort is twinned with the very popular newly named Palisades Tahoe (previously Squaw Valley) and the same lift pass can be used in both resorts and so our Pistepro listing shows the combined slopes available and both front and back sides mountain maps for both resorts are viewable in this listing. Alpine Meadows is now connected by lifts and there is also a regular shuttle bus which connects the resorts.
Alpine Meadows has a variety of slopes which suit every skiers ability level. Be warned though, the slope grading system at Palisades Tahoe does not differentiate between diamond and double-diamond and so do plan your routes carefully if you are not a good intermediate or experienced skier.
Alpine Meadows ski resort manages to be relaxed but also attract enthusiastic skiers who tend to be intermediate or above.
Alpine Meadows accommodation is a shuttle away from the lift system and so there is no ski to bar apres style entertainment available.
