Auron is a medium sized ski resort located in the far south of the French Alps. The large village itself sits at 1600m above sea level and is connected to four ski areas which reach up to 2450m, with a range of off piste skiing. Its southern proximity does mean that it receives warm sunny weather for a large part of the ski season, and offers warmer temperatures than the central alps. Recently, the resort opened a new Family ski park called ‘Ubac’ making it an ideal resort for families with young children and beginner skiers. However, further up the mountain intermediates and advanced skiers will find a medium sized snow park. The resort also offers disabled skiing facilities on site, as well as snow scooters. Whilst it is mostly blue and red runs across the resort, advanced skiers should take advantage of the off piste skiing here as mentioned before. However, be sure to check the snow conditions as the warm weather does sometimes compromise snow depths away from the pistes. The nearest airport is Nice, and the resort is easiest to reach from here via car.
