The resort location and interesting fact…
The ski region is split across 2 mountains with different characteristics. The Mary Jane mountain is the most challenging with some gnarly bumps which will challenge even experienced skiers. The resort does tend to favour intermediates and advanced skiers, however, beginners can also enjoy this resort as there are a range of blue runs which still enable beginner skiers to navigate large chunks of the mountain.
Winter Park resort is very high and snow conditions tend to be very good throughout the season, the altitude and sheer volume of snow ensures this is always a good place to ski.
The lift network is modern and efficient and the uphill capacity in this resort is good, however, be warned its proximity to Denver and great conditions, combine to ensure that at weekends the lifts can be busy and so an efficient lift system is what is needed in this popular resort.
Winter Park resort is a firm favourite with families and there is a good volume of condo accommodation as well as an ever-increasing range of hotels to choose from. As a family resort it tends to be a bit quiet in the evenings and a lot of the visitors do stay in the condos of an evening. Irrespective of that there is still a good range of restaurants and bars.
