Sun Peaks Resort is Canada’s 3rd largest just behind Whistler and Lake Louise in terms of the skiable area.

The ski area at Sun Peaks is diverse with a good volume and range of runs to suit all abilities. However, there is an abundance of easier runs at Sun Peaks which makes this an ideal resort for beginners and families. Beginners can easily ski back to the resort and also tackle some lengthy runs which makes this a rare treat for mixed ability groups, families and all beginners.

The snow conditions at Sun Peaks tend to be good throughout the season, because although the resort is lower than some big name resort in Canada, it is further inland and the temperatures and climate ensure good volumes and type of snow.

The sheer volume of runs and the resort location combine to ensure that the pistes tend to be clear and the lift queues kept to a minimum.

Cross country and Nordic skiing is catered for well at Sun Peaks Resort with a lot of groomed runs.

Sun Peaks resort is purpose built (back in the 1960’s) and has evolved significantly since then, but the resort is well positioned to easily access the slopes and although not raucous has a good range of restaurants and bars. The center of the resort is pedestrianised and skiable.

Getting to Sun Peaks from Kelowna international airport is approximately 2 hours but a closer regional airport can be found at Kamloops for those who are looking for a shorter transfer time.
