Söll is a lively and friendly village within the Ski Welt region. Good night life and apres ski are always found in Söll. The resort has good access to the very large Ski Welt region and is popular with party minded skiers of all abilities. Soll is situated in the centre of Austria’s largest lift linked ski area and is easy to reach. It is a traditional village which has seen recent development which has been in keeping with the area to extend the facilities to provide a modern centre with extensive leisure facilities for tourists and locals alike. The village centre is pedestrianised, with the traditional onion-domed church as its central feature. Traditionally a farmer’s village the tourist industry is now its major income and with it comes ample opportunities for travellers to enjoy this village.
Soll is based in the heart of the Ski Welt area with its 250km of trails. The ski pass offers access to 260 lifts so there is plenty of choice for all ability of skiers. The base of the ski lifts is about 1km away and so a free shuttle bus or 15/20minutes walk is required. This is true for beginners also, so the advantage of having ski lockers at the lift base as well as at the top of the gondola area are invaluable saving you are carrying your skis back to resort at the end of the day.
The 8-seater gondola up to Hochsoll is the primary access to the ski area for most staying in Soll. At the top, the level plateau provides a good base for beginners and intermediates can go on from here to access the wider ski region.
Night skiing is also popular and runs several evenings a week with 6km of runs open for this. Tobogganing is likewise a popular event with a 3.5km run illuminated purpose-built track to enjoy at night for a spectacular evening.
There are over 80 restaurants on the slopes and in the area providing ample opportunities to sample local meals and beverages. The apres ski is lively with several night clubs and bars to choose from making it a popular place for those wanting to enjoy the nightlife as much as the skiing.
