Snow Summit ski resort is a stone’s throw away from Bear Mountain but offers a slightly different winter sports experience. There are 27 ski runs available, as well as 6 snow parks and is overall slightly larger than the nearby Bear Mountain ski resort. It has 13 blue ski runs, making it great for intermediates, and is spread out over a large forest on the side of the mountain. The “All Mountain Express” 4-person chairlift is easy and fast, as it spans from the base of the resort to the peak at 8200 feet above sea level. Here you can find the “Hog on the rocks” bar and restaurant, sweeping views of the San Bernadino Mountains and an abundance of green, blue, and black runs to choose from when venturing back down through the trees. The ski resort gives a varied alpine skiing experience, combining gentler, winding green runs such as the “Summit run” and exhilarating, fast paced pistes such as the double black “side chute”. Whilst there is still a large amount of freestyle terrain covering one side of the ski area, overall, this ski resort gives a rounded skiing experience with a great selection of blue runs along with the “Bear Bottom Beginner Area” at the base of the resort. This means that all abilities of skiers are suited to this resort, including young families.
