Silverstar Mountain ski resort is a traditional Victorian mining town, turned mega ski resort in British Columbia, Canada.
The skiable area here is large, very large with over 130 pistes which suit all levels of skiers.
Altitude and snow conditions - Silvertstar has an excellent snow record and most runs stay open throughout the full season. Although the resort base is at just under 1200m with a top of below 2000m the micro-climate in the area, ensures snow fall and quality are good. Silverstar village sits at a mid altitude point between the High and Low.
The lift network has evolved over many years and contains a variety of lifts, overall the lift network is well managed and efficient for this popular resort which keeps queues to a minimum
Cross country skiing is well catered for in this resort and is a popular activity with a very large network of groomed cross country pistes.
Silverstar is a popular resort with families and its ski school has a good reputation. There is a real variety of restaurants with every taste and budget being catered for. Similarly to the restaurants the bars vary and there are plenty of them, so skiers can party with the DJ’s or go for a quiet drink elsewhere.
Silverstar accommodation is also varied but with lots of chalets and a few hotels, much of the accommodation is ski-to-door.
