Selle Nevea ski resort is linked with Bovec in Slovenia and has access the Kanin ski region in this border area. The resort is Slovenia’s highest with a top altitude of 2292m, on the Italian side of the mountain the altitude range is high as skiers can drop into Sella Nevea at an altitude of 1140m or on the Slovenian side skiers can drop to a Gondola way point with an altitude of 1649m.
The number of runs and lifts in the area is limited and resort is classified as small. The Pistepro data sheet refers to combined number of lifts and pistes on both the Italian and Slovenian sides of the mountain. Although limited in runs the snow conditions found here are generally good as the resort is quite high. Another positive is that the resort is rarely crowded and although some lifts could be updated the queue times are good.
Sella Nevea is an established resort with a range of bars and restaurants and cost effective accommodation. Another draw is the location, on a good day, skiers can get views of the Adriatic and the Alps.
This is a great and unique place to ski for a few days, with plenty of off-piste to entertain intermediates which expands the limited groomed piste terrain.
