Red Mountain ski resort is in North Americas top 10 for size. Located in BC, Canada, very close to the US border the resort is 3 hours drive away from local airports but worth the trip as the slopes are often uncrowded as well as large.
The ski region is split into 3 key areas. Front, paradise and Granite. All maps are viewable and downloadable on PistePro.
There is a real range of pistes here catering for every ability level, however, we should add that a large percentage of the runs are in the Diamond/Double Diamond category so although beginners and intermediates should not be put off visiting it is the experienced skiers who can get the most out of this resort.
Back country skiing is a joy at Red Mountain, there’s plenty of space and trails for experienced skiers to follow. Do check out the safety recommendations before setting off and get a guide if you are at all nervous about where to ski.
Cross country skiing is catered for well at Red Mountain with marked and regularly groomed trails for experienced or beginners to try.
Check out the Cat and Heli skiing opportunities when you are in Red Mountain to get the most from this resort.
Red Mountain is a laid back resort with plenty of affordable bars and accommodation. Red Mountain and the mining village of Rossland which is a few km away are both good places to stay. If you are after friendly bars rather than high end restaurants you wont be disappointed.
