Purgatory Ski Resort in Colorado is a firm favourite for beginners and intermediates due its relatively easily skiable terrain. The terrain makes this a great location for families and the accommodation tends to cater well for young family visitors.

The majority of slopes at Purgatory ski resort suit beginners and intermediates well. That is not to say there is nothing for the experienced. The resort does host some pretty challenging mogul fields.

The lift network at Purgatory is well managed and efficient. The resort does not suffer from massive crowds and there is plenty of space to cope with visitor numbers so lift queues are not a feature of this resort.

There is a range of accommodation in the slopeside village and even more budget options available in the local town of Durango.
