Powderhorn Mountain ski resort has a good reputation amongst beginners and intermediate skiers. The resort is laid back, family friendly and affordable on a budget.
Powderhorns annual snow-fall is not generous, however, this tends to not be a problem because the arid climate helps keep the powder dry and so what does fall tends to stay in good condition for a longer period.
Powderhorn is a small resort and so accommodation next to the lifts is limited. Many skiers drive in from Grand Junction. This is actually an advantage because the limited accommodation close to the slope and the remoteness of this resort do ensure that the slopes are uncluttered and so lift queues tend to not be a problem.
