Plan Peisey and its neighbour Vallandry are very close to the Vanoise Express and so skiers located here have easy access to all the whole Paradiski region. Our piste details show Les Arcs Lifts and runs, but a fast cable car link to Montchavin on the other side of the valley opens open the whole La plagne ski area to skiers who want to go further afield or gain access to Glacier skiing in La Plagne. Plan Peisey is at the southern edge of the Les Arcs ski region and is a quiet enclave popular with families with a range of apartment and hotel accomodation on offer. There are a few restaurants and bars located in the queit purpose built ski resort of Plan Peisey which offer some really good quality food and beverages. The beauty of this small resort is that it does have access to two massive ski areas, both which have a real range of slopes to challenge all skier abilities. These ski areas combine to create Paradiski, which is the 2nd largest ski rea in europe and certainly in terms of vistor numbers one of the most popular in the world. Access to Plan Peisey is relatively easy as the resort is only 1.5 hours from Chambery airport or 2.5 hours from Geneva. In addition many visitors arrive by train which arrives in the valley in Bourg St Maurice. Despite being very popular this ski resort has a very well managed and maintained lift network which ensures queues are kept to an absolute minimum. Plan Peisey is the destination point for the Vanois Express which just happened to be the biggest, longest and fastest cable car in thee world when it opened in 2003. This cable car is a double decker beast which can accomodate 200 skiers. The views from it are spectacular so it is worth taking the trip even if you don't want to ski on the La Plagne side of Paradiski. Plan Peisey is at a very respectable altitude of 1600m and there are two chairlifts close by which take skiers up to over 2000m so snow coverage and conditions in the local area tend to be good. From the top of the chair lifts the whole of Les Arcs ski region is easily accesible and the majority of the mountain can be navigated on either reds or blues making this an intermediate skiers paradise. More experienced skiers can head out to some long challenging black pistes, some grooomed and some left to nature at the sothern end of the Les Arcs region above Arcs 2000 ski resort.
