Pian delle Betulle - Alpe di Paglio ski resort is a very small ski resort located north of Milan. It has only 5 ski runs, yet its stunning scenery makes up for the lack of marked ski runs. The resort is nestled in the beautiful mountains of Alta Valsassina where the lifts take you up to gorgeous views of the nearby valleys and lakes. Margno is the nearest town which has a pretty old town and is only 1.5 hours drive from Milan, although it is still very secluded and the nearby mountains of Lake Como are worth the drive. There are ski lesson available here too, along with snowshoeing directed by local guides if you wish. The resort is best suited to experts and intermediates, with a few blue runs that will test intermediates.
