Petzen Ski Map

Petzen ski resort is a small resort located on the Austrian-Slovenian border. Despite its small size, there is a modern cable car which takes you up the mountain quickly. The resort offers some very scenic alpine skiing with trees bordering many of the runs. From the summit, you get excellent views of the Jaun Valley, with stunning mountains, lakes and hills to be seen. From here, there are a collection of intermediate runs back down which wind through the trees. The longest run is 12km, which is plenty to entertain most skiers. There are snow machines on some of the runs although off piste is slightly limited here. Even in summer, the Petzen-Bergbahnen hills and mountains are beautiful and widely visited by many, meaning that in winter the scenery is great but the runs can be sometimes busy. The resort can be slightly tricky to get to, with some accommodation nearby. However, there is an abundance of activities available here from tobogganing to ice skating to horse-drawn carriages. Overall, this resort gives a good skiing experience, highlighted by the great scenery of the Petzen-Bergbahnen hills and mountains and offers a great variety of activities.
