Mt Lyford ski resort is a hidden gem amongst New Zealand’s ski resorts. As long as you don’t expect a large piste terrain offering, there is quiet, scenic and laid-back skiing and snowboarding to be discovered here. Mostly consisting of black ski runs, it is best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers. However, at the centre of the ski resort there are a few green runs to be explored by newbies before advancing to the surrounding scenic blue runs. This ski resort is still family run, a rarity in modern ski resorts.
