Mountain High ski resort is located in the San Gabriel Mountains in California, and is one of the oldest ski resorts in the country. The resort divides in to three separate areas, the “West”, “East” and “North” ski areas. There is a total of 57 ski runs across 14 ski lifts which are suited to all abilities of skiers. Each section of the resort provides a variation of terrain designed for winter sports. For example, the West area caters to snowboarders and skiers who prefer snow parks, jumps and a more freestyle approach to winter sports. There are competitive jumps around the resort, as well as rails for snowboarders. There are, however, green runs at the top of the resort, for those who want to try the smaller snow parks. The East side provides testing moguls and ski runs for most skiers, whilst enjoying the scenery of the San Gabriel Mountains. There is a fast quad chairlift which provides access to longest ski run on the resort. Overall this area offers great variation for skiing and snowboarding, as well as some challenging ski runs for those looking to test themselves on the slopes. The North area of the ski resort caters to beginners and families, which features less steep terrain and a large selection of green runs. There is a popular “North Pole Tubing Park” with 10 lanes, which adds to the fun for younger families. Ski lessons, however, area only available on the East and West ski areas. The resorts nearest airport is Ontario airport which is 64km away or about an hour’s drive.
