Meribel Ski Resort ticks every box on the list, apart from maybe the 'cheap' box.

This pretty french ski resort is a fantastic location. It is rare to find two world class, exclusive resorts sitting next to each other in one valley, but Courchevel and Meribel do just that.

Fabulous restaurants, chic bars, boutique shops and jewellers. The most luxurious of Brands jostle for the attention of the rich, and famous visitors at Meribel. Much like Courchevel, Meribel is a place to see and be seen.

Meribel deserves this attention from its visitors because it is a fantastic location in the middle of the largest ski area in the world. A well- managed, and efficient lift and piste network enables visitors to gain access to the Three Valleys ski area. The slopes here have been engineered to suit everyone.

Skiers, boarders and hikers rarely have to push themselves along flats to reach the lift, that would just not be dignified. The lift system copes well with the crowds even on the busiest of days. The altitude of the resort is very reasonable starting at 1450m and creeping up the hill to 1600m. From here skiers can easily reach 3000m close to meribel and even higher above the connected resort of Val Thorens, so accessing good snow is never an issue. Meribel has approx. 160km of slopes within an easy reach, but the wider area including Courchevel and Val Thorens have almost 600km of pistes. Given that Meribel is centrally located within this area, this is the ideal resort from which to explore.

Apres ski is very well catered in chic bars both on and off the slopes. Apres is a bit more about being served champagne rather than grabbing a beer, but both can be done in style in Meribel. Party goers will love La Folie Douce, where DJ’s will put on an apres show and the nights party gets started.

Off snow there is every activity you could wish for. Put simply, Meribel is a world class resort, with great skiing, in a fantastic location, and everyone it seems is invited to the party.
