Banff is a world class resort with an incredible reputation for great scenery, a fantastic skiing area and top-class resort facilities. The town of Banff has it all, arrange of hotels to suit all budgets, great nightlife, exclusive stores, world class restaurants and a friendly Canadian vibe. Banff ski resort provides easy access to the Banff National Park which contains 3 separate ski areas.

Lake Louise ski area is the largest in the Banff Big 3 ski region, but it is the furthest away from the resort of Banff (65km). However, the trip to Lake Louise from Banff is worth it, as skiers have access to the largest ski area in Banff with a variety of runs and challenges to suit all skier abilities.

The Lake Louise ski area is also split in to three areas which cover a large area. At Lake Louise you will have access to 4,200 acres of terrain the frontside, Larch and Back Bowls, all of which are easily navigated to and linked together.

The 'Front Side', 'Back Bowls' and 'Larch' provide extensive and varied views from each of their summits. The views are incredible, Lake Louise is probably the bluest blue you will have ever seen. Banff – Lake Louise also has an excellent range of ski runs which cater to all abilities. Beginners will be particularly comfortable at this resort, safe in the knowledge that there will be an easy 'green' run trailing back down at the top of most lifts. It is recommended to try the 'Top of the World' lift which does what it says and gives a great sense of adventure as the sweeping views across the Bow valley containing multiple glaciers and mountain peaks.

There is also a large amount of off piste skiing, as well as the well-known Showtime Terrain Park which will keep the adrenaline seeking skiing community entertained with jumps, rails, and ramps galore.

In terms of logistics, there is a small amount of accommodation available close to Lake Louise, but the there is little nightlife in this area and so most visitors commute from the far livelier town of Banff which also enables skiers to easily access the other ski areas in Banff national park which are all available on a single ski pass.

The town of Banff is also a gateway to the Banff national park with its access to hikes, ski areas and thermal springs.

The town has good quality bars and restaurants, once again to suit all budgets as well as museums and activities for children.

Banff is also accessible. The resort is approx. 90 mins drive from Calgary and with such a vast ski area and a deserved reputation for excellent skiing this resort is truly international.
