Berne, Switzerland
Gstaad ski resort in Switzerland is the only resort in the Bernese region which is close to Glacier skiing opportunities. The full resort pass enables you to access 3 broad areas, some of which are directly accessible from the resort and others (including the glacier) require a very short bus journey. The skiing here is varied and has something for every level and ability of skier, but the resort overall suits intermediates well as they are better at taking advantage of everything that the pistes have to offer. Gstaad itself is a self-assured classy resort with a very good selection of 5 star hotels and Luxury Brand stores. Unsurprisingly there are some very good restaurants and bars which sit alongside the prestigious accommodation. You will also find more reasonably priced accommodation and this charming Swiss town is well worth a visit.
