Davos is a busy town located at a relatively high altitude in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The resort is best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers, as almost half of the pistes are red runs. There is a great variation of winding tree-lined pistes lower down the valley along with open and scenic challenging pistes higher up. Davos is located near to the village of Klosters-Serneus, which are both linked through the 57 lifts and 85 ski runs stretching across the Swiss mountains.  Davos has a wide range of accommodation, bars, restaurants and other nightlife, which makes it great for larger groups of skiers. Davos sits in a long, narrow valley which is surrounded by a few steep mountain slopes, although most of the pistes that run down to the town are blue runs. The valley evens out as it passes Davos lake. Further up the mountains, for example at the highest point of the resort called Weissfluhgipfel, off piste runs and more challenging black and red runs can be found. There are also excellent panoramic views to be had over the surrounding valley from this summit.  There is a range of winter sports activities available at Davos ski resort, including paragliding and ice skating. From here the next village of Klosters can be reached easily via red and blue runs. Snow reliability higher up the mountains nearby are good, and Davos itself is one of the highest towns in the Alps, so there is a good chance of adequate skiing conditions at the resort. The nearest airport is Zurich which is 2 hours away by car.
