Courchevel is a resort with a well deserved reputation for luxury and excellence. The beautiful village hosts some exclusive bars, clubs and restaurants, and it is certainly a great place to see and 'be seen'. Courchevel is also fantastic ski area in its own right, the fact that it is also linked to Meribel and Val Thorens and as such is part of 3 valleys ski area (One of the largest skiable areas in the world) ensures that from a skiers perspective this resort is top class.

Courchjevel is a purpose built resort, but it was purpose built in 1946, so it managed to avoid the concrete builds popular in the 1960-70s. The original designers of the village were always aiming for a ski-in, ski-out development and although not every hotel benefits from this, the resort is very well planned for easy access to the slopes.

The main Courchevel resort is Courchevel 1850, but there are also notable linked resorts in the Courchevel area with good accommodation and some great bars and restaurants. Courchevel Moriond (1650). And Courchevel Village (1550) also have direct access to the slopes from some fast and efficient lifts.

The ski area at Courchevel is what attracted the affluent crowds. This is a great area to ski in its own right with a good mix of slopes to delight beginners and challenge the experienced. The positioning of the slopes and the surrounding geology provide a beautiful backdrop to the well managed ski network here. A lot of skiing is above the tree line and so the more experienced skiers can dart from piste to piste off the groomed slopes in lots of areas.

On the slopes above Courchevel, you can find some truly superb restaurants and bars, our advice is to reserve a place for your luncheon, especially in high season when the sun is hitting the deck.

Courchevel 1850, as you may expect has some great facilities a high concentration of superb restaurants, luxurious boutiques, as well as lots of mountain related activities.

Apres in Courchevel is an essential part of the scene. Take your choice from chic bars on the slopes to very stylish eateries in the village. The choice is yours.
