Pyrenees, Spain
Beret is a small hamlet in the pyreneese along with its sister resort of Baqueira they combine to create Spain’s largest ski resort. Located in the pyreneese, the overall resort is a more sophisticated that it's Andorran neighbours and manages to retain both spanish and pyreneese charm despite some pretty brutal 1970's architecture. The lift and piste network is efficient, well planned and modern. Many first time visitors are concerned about snow coverage because the resort is at a middle altitude and very southerly in comparison to most Alpine resorts. However, snow cover here throughout the season tends to be good and the altitude range is not bad at all. In addition, Baqueira does have an extensive network of pistes and there are runs here to suit all ski abilities. Well worth a visit.
