Aussois ski resort in Savoie, France is a small'ish resort which offers great value skiing and is popular with families. The charming village of Aussois is genuine mountain village and not tainted by 1960's high rise architecture. Accomodation in Aussois is varied, and all budgets are catered for. There are smart hotels and lower cost apartments, all are within a relatively small walk of the lifts. On the slopes, the lift machinery varies in age, but you don't need to stare at it lomng, because queues are usually short and the lift system copes with the numbers of vistors to the slopes very well. Aussois has over 1250m of altitude range and if you are a beginner or intermediate who likes to glide on blues and reds in the sun this is the resort for you.
