Carinthia, Austria
Ankogel is a small ski resort on the northern edge of the carinthia region of Austria. Anjkogel is located in the beautiful and traditional Hohe Tauern National Park area of Austria. The accomodation next to the lifts is mostly guest houses, but a short shuttle ride away, skiers can stay in the historic village of Mallnitz. The skiing opportunities here for experienced free-riders is great, despite the resort being small and the number of groomed pistes limited. Off-piste enthusiasts will love it here when the conditions are good. The lift system could do with some upgrades, but don't let this put you off as this is a little gem of a resort and it is rarely very crowded.
