Ancelle is a small but scenic ski resort located in the southern French alps. Whilst the village itself is located relatively low down at 1340m above sea level, it is connected to the Chategre mountain peak which takes you up to 1710m. From here there are a range of steep red pistes and more gentle blue pistes which wind through the trees and head back down towards the village. Those looking for more of a challenge can venture out to the Coste Belle mountain where there is one black run and two reds which are on the edge of the ski area at 1807m. Despite its small size, Ancelle ski resort offers a variety of skiing activities such as a snowpark and small beginner lifts and pistes for younger children. Due to the steep nature of the mountains are Ancelle, combined with some dense areas of trees, off piste skiing is slightly limited but the scenery will make up for this. Also, you can buy a ski pass which covers the 5 resorts in the Champsaur valley, including Ancelle. These are all close by with some good off piste skiing and are reachable by car.
